Plan Reviewed: Basic 3 Features Package
Pros
- Friendly customer service
- Ability to personalize the last 4 digits of your toll free number at no extra cost
Cons
- Requires an account with a hard line
- Only comes with 3 features
- No included minutes
- 800 numbers are not available
- High cost for a true vanity number
- No phone system functionality
Conclusion
In order to get a toll free number from Qwest you must have or be willing to set up a local phone line with Qwest and pay all of the fees associated with that line. You can obtain a toll free number through Qwest with their "Basic 3 Features" package, which is available to small businesses through phone customer service. The "Basic 3 Features" package allows you to select three features (ie toll free number, voicemail, caller ID). In addition to the fees associated with the "Basic 3 Features" package, there is a $5 charge per month for a toll free number and a 5¢/minute charge on all calls received through the toll free line.
1-800 toll free numbers are not available through Qwest. The sales representative that we spoke to recommended that we obtain an 800 number from another carrier and port that number to Qwest. Qwest allows you to customize the last four digits of your toll free number at no extra cost. However if you would like the entire seven digits customized there is a one time fee of $250.
